I am not a tea connoisseur. I just love this tea. I drink a lot of plain water throughout the day so I like to have something different at night (or when its really cold), but without the calories. The Licorice Spice tea is perfect. It has a sweet and spicy flavor that requires no need for sugar or milk or whatever else people put in their teas. I recommend giving it a try.
Licorice Spice Herbal Tea
I have been drinking the Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea for many years (more than 16). I've always used the bags, and keep my brewing method carefully controlled (water, time, temperature, contact). Since I usually buy the tea "in bulk" and don't drink it every day, I tend to restock only once every 12 to 18 months or so. I recently purchased a new batch of Licorice Spice tea bags (online, since I was unable to find it any place locally any longer and had been looking for weeks) and was surprised to find that taste has apparently changed (in addition to the packaging) since the last time I purchased it (approximately mid-to-late 2017). I agree strongly with an earlier reviewer that the potency of the licorice root taste has been significantly diminished, and I would also note that the current blend also has stronger citrus/cinnamon notes than the "older" version. In addition, the bags have noticeable amounts of cinnamon dust residue inside the bag (which I never noticed in the older version bags). Even with the repeated duplication of my controlled brewing method, I can tell that the "new" version of the brewed tea is much lighter in color than before, and has far less of a red tint to the finished product (I wish I had photos of both the old and new for proof of my claim). Please be honest with me Stash (and I would appreciate a reply): did you folks change your ingredient blend with this particular flavor, or perhaps change a supplier of key ingredients? I easily give the old version of the tea that I drank for many years 5 stars, but I struggle to even generously give this current (newer) version 3 stars. As the artist Mathew Sweet sang: "Nothing Lasts". I grieve this state of affairs, and implore Stash to go back to the older formulation if that is the root cause for the flavor change. If it costs a little more, then so be it as the original taste is worth every penny.
Love it!!! Don’t want to drink anything else!!!
My friend was fond of the Stash Licorice tea that was available in grocery stores a few years ago. He tells me that the current Licorice Spice is very good. I am happy that we can have Licorice tea again.
