Fusion Green and White Tea

Unique blend of rare and expensive white tea and top quality green tea. We begin with Mutan White (White Peony) which is made from the leaves of the da bai or "big white" bush and mixed with buds from the shui hsien or "water sprite" tea plant. The leaves have silver tips and are predominantly greenish-brown in color and very flat. The buds are lustrous, soft and silvery. Its name, a literal translation from the Chinese, probably comes from the very pale color of its liquor.

We then blend this white tea with green tea from Japan, China and India. The resulting tea is pale gold in the cup and has a unique delicate, smooth flavor.

White tea is a very rare, expensive connoisseurs tea that was only produced in China's Fujian province, a region famous for its prized white teas. It is difficult to obtain as production is extremely limited. White tea is harvested only a few days of the year. Once harvested, white tea is not oxidized or rolled, but simply withered and dried.

I was so sad when they discontinued the Green and White Fusion in bags. I spent a year looking for a tea that was similar and didn’t find one. I finally stumbled upon this loose leaf. Thankfully it’s the exact same as it was in the bags.

      Pour Another for Me

Whether I am sitting down to relax for the evening or looking for a hot, soothing and delicious cup of tea before teaching in the afternoon, it the perfect tea for a slight pick-me-up. This tea is a perfect balance of green and white tea. Green tea alone (for me) is sometimes a bit bitter or flat. The balance of white tea brings out the slightly nutty flavor and at the same time, slightly tones down any bitter in the tea. When the tea bags were discontinued, I hounded the customer service department. I even mixed my own version of it, which I still like (but doesn’t taste exactly the same, so don’t get nervous Mr.Stash Product Manager). Just keep doing what you are doing by keeping this loose tea on the website. I don’t mind brewing it from scratch. Just keep our “stash” of this tea going.

      Better than you think

Such a mild sweet tea with a refined flavor. Glad I discovered this.
