Human Resources Administrator

The Opportunity

Stash Tea Company is looking for an experienced, talented and enthusiastic Human Resources Administrator. The Human Resources Administrator provides support to staff in all HR functional areas. Serves as a resource to supervisors to create a healthy atmosphere where all staff can thrive, feel valued, experience job satisfaction, and have opportunities to grow their careers. Provides leadership in line with company values and promotes a positive and progressive work environment.

Duties of Position

  • Prepares new employee paperwork and conducts new employee orientation and on-boarding
  • Assists staff members and their supervisors with the leaves process (FMLA/OFLA, Personal, etc.)
  • Ensures incident reports and workers’ compensation claims (801s) are sent to SAIF Corp. and Claims Manager and that they are on time, accurate and complete and follows up with staff on claims
  • Ensures OSHA 300, 300a, and 301 logs are accurate and up to date
  • Works with workers’ compensation insurance broker on safety best practices
  • Leads the B Corp committee to ensure we continue to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance and keep our certification current
  • Plans and implements company events, parties, and programs
  • Responds to staff questions and conducts workplace investigations
  • Participates actively in the maintenance and enrichment of a workplace safety culture and Safety Committee
  • Understands, models, and instills company culture
  • Delivers exceptional customer service and demonstrates friendly and attentive behaviors with internal and external customers
  • Ensures application of HR policies and procedures are consistent
  • Engages with supervisors in preparing and delivering corrective action, including terminations, and performance evaluations
  • Coaches supervisors on approaches to motivating and challenging their teams, to ensure high staff performance, engagement, and accountability
  • Assists supervisors in activities to develop staff, help staff members plan their careers, and create cross-training initiatives
  • Consults with department supervisors on recruitment need and strategy
  • Posts job openings, screens resumes, coaches hiring managers on interview and selection process, ensures fair hiring practices
  • Conducts training programs as needed to help staff develop
  • Works with benefits insurance broker to research benefits and create benefits plan
  • Facilitates benefits orientations and coordinates the annual open enrollment (benefits fair). Collects paperwork, completes data entry for enrollments, changes, terminations (including COBRA) and answers staff benefit questions
  • Processes, copies, files staff paperwork and key employee data
  • Evaluates and researches compensation
  • Represents the company regarding unemployment insurance claims, including hearings
  • Updates and maintains employee handbook and company policies
  • Ensures compliance with employment law posters
  • Stays current with changing employment laws and best practices
  • Collaborates with teams to create wellness, appreciation, and recognition initiatives
  • Writes and communicates all-staff emails as requested
  • Processes payroll as needed
  • Offers Public Notary services
  • Other duties as assigned

    Education/Training & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
    • Human Resources experience with a manufacturer
    • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred

    Working Conditions

    This role operates in a professional office environment and manufacturing/warehouse environment. The office environment routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/warehouse environment and may involve the moving of materials up to 25 pounds. Everyone who enters the warehouse needs to comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
