  • Product Description

Pai Mu Tan White Tea is a very smooth tea with no astringency. Its subtle flavor can be enjoyed through several infusings with each one revealing a different nuance.

When brewing Pai Mu Tan White, be sure to add a little extra to your infuser as it is very fluffy and light. However, do not fill the infuser more than half full, as the tea needs room to infuse properly.

White tea is mainly produced in the Fujian province in China. Pai Mu Tan White is made from the leaves of the da bai or "big white" bush and mixed with buds from the shui hsien or "water sprite" tea plant. The leaves have silver tips and are predominantly greenish-brown in color and very flat. The buds are lustrous, soft and silvery. Its name, a literal translation from the Chinese, probably comes from the very pale color of its liquor.

White tea comes from a rare strain of the tea plant and is harvested only a few days of the year. Once harvested, white tea is not oxidized or rolled, but simply withered and dried by steaming.

The World According to Tea

I have discovered and enjoyed several teas at STASH. Ordering is easy and shipments prompt.
Pai Mu Tan White tea was a good choice for me. It is mild but still slightly earthy. It will be a staple in my Tea Pantry from now on.
Kukicha is another tea I found out about thru STASH. It is a lovely grassy tea that I really get a lift from. Sadly the STASH supply ran out. I will be watching for its return.

Love Stash Tea

Always amazing products!

Supberb tea

This is a wonderful tea, high in antioxidants and low in caffeine. It is so much smoother than greens. Its my absolute favorite!

Flavor wise it is a five. The petiole is still attached and the leaf size is large making it difficult when brewing single cups.

Not what I was expecting

This is not at all what I was expecting. I find this tea too earthy, with somewhat unpleasant musty and nutty/dark overtones. It's really very odd for a white tea. Maybe I got a mislabeled bag or something. I can't drink it straight, but it's ok if I mix it with mint.

Full Flavor White Tea

This is a full flavor white tea. Great tea for first time white tea drinkers. Flavor is medium to light which is typical of a mutan white tea. Flavor is just right, smooth and flowery. This is my most favorite white tea for the price.
