Black Needle Yunnan Black Tea

This classic tea has large, wiry, open-twisted buds of gloriously tippy tea. It's delicious and full-bodied, with a classic, clean and brisk Yunnan character. In China, this tea is referred to as Jin Ya Hong Cha, or black needled, describing its appearance.

Yunnan Black tea is grown in the southwest mountainous area of Yunnan province in China. Wild tea trees of hundreds or perhaps one thousand years old are still vigorous in this area which is sometimes referred to as the "birthplace of tea."

Yunnan is the most southwestern province in China, with the Tropic of Cancer running through its southern part. Yunnan province is also the most ethnically diverse province in China.
