Stash Millennium Blend

Stash Millennium BlendEight world-class teas are artfully blended to create this distinctive blend -- Kopili Estate Assam, Kenilworth Estate Ceylon, Green Darjeeling, Gunpowder Temple of Heaven, Dragonwell Special Grade, Formosa Oolong, Mutan White, and Keemun Hao Ya.

Each tea brings its unique characteristics to this special blend.

The rainy valley of Assam is the birthplace of Indian tea. At 2,000 feet in elevation, the 3,000-acre Kopili Estate is the highest in Assam. Teas from Kopili are very unique due to the proximity of virgin rain forest and the hot springs at Garampani along with the climate and soil conditions. Kopili Assam has the malty, full-bodied flavor of the best Assams and unique flavor notes due to the garden's location.

Ceylon, or its contemporary name, Sri Lanka, is a beautiful tropical island about the size of England that lies just off the southern tip of India. Ceylon tea is grown from sea level to altitudes exceeding 7,000 feet. Kenilworth Estate is one of the most famous tea gardens in Sri Lanka and produces Ceylons with long wiry leaves and exquisite flavor.

The name Darjeeling is synonymous with superior quality black teas. Only recently has the world discovered that Darjeeling also produces a superior quality green tea. Darjeeling Green is very rare and when brewed, produces a tea with distinct green tea flavor notes that is lighter and more delicate than traditional black Darjeeling teas.

Gunpowder Temple of Heaven green tea from China is tightly rolled into tiny pellets resembling gunshot, hence the name "Gunpowder". It takes special skill to roll tea leaves into this unusual shape which helps keep the tea exceptionally fresh and flavorful. Leaves delicately unfold during brewing, producing a dark green color with a distant, smoky, spicy flavor. Temple of Heaven is the highest grade of Gunpowder tea. China's most famous green tea, Dragonwell, or Lung Ching, is grown near scenic West Lake which lies southwest of Shanghai. The flat green leaves produce a clear, pale green tea with a slightly sweet, aromatic fresh flavor and lingering aftertaste, which are the tea's unique characteristics. Oolong is from the island of Taiwan where it is grown on the north end of the island around Taipei. Oolong may be the last tea grown in commercial quantities on family farms. Oolong is a semi-fermented tea without the astringency characteristic of black tea. It's more deliciously fruity than any other tea, with a sparkling character.

White tea comes from a rare strain of the tea plant and is harvested only a few days of the year. It undergoes almost no transformation - once harvested, it is merely dried and withered. White leaves are lustrous and silvery. Our Mutan White brews a pale golden cup with a mellow taste and a hint of sweetness.

Keemun Hao Ya is the finest grade of this famous tea and is produced with the utmost skill. "Hao Ya" means "tippy bud" in Chinese and refers to the leaves with the best appearance. These slender, tightly twisted black leaves brew a brilliant golden cup and have a lush, fruity, sweet flavor with a hint of smokiness.
