I wish I could give this more than 5 stars!

This is the tea that got me hooked on drinking tea; it's the gold standard of tea flavors that I measure all other teas against (and none have ever surpassed it as my favorite). It starts with a hint of star anise, followed by a note of citrus, and finishes with a lovely mix of cinnamon, cardamom, and clove (the chai trifecta, but nowhere near as overpowering as they are in Stash's Chai Spice flavor). The licorice root makes it sweet, so there's no need to add anything to your brew, and I find that the longer I brew it, the more I like it (it never becomes bitter).

I also discovered this past summer that it makes an EXCELLENT flavoring for homemade ice cream. The first time I served it as an ice cream I was told I could market it! Simply make a basic 1 qt custard base and then steep six tea bags in the base (or 6 tsp in an infuser if you buy the loose tea, which is recommended by far!), covered, for an hour. Churn and serve!

    Unexpected but interesting

I was surprised that a reviewer said that this tea becomes bitter, because I am a chronic over-brewer and I haven't found that to be true at all. I also don't think that the sarsaparilla flavor is too strong; in fact I can't taste it at all. The rooibos is the strongest component of this tea for me, with the cinnamon coming in at a distant second. The vanilla I wouldn't even guess to be an ingredient if it wasn't named on the package. I love rooibos, so this isn't a disappointment for me, but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting either.

    So-so tea flavor
    December 27, 2013
When I opened this package of tea I was assailed by a very strong, almost chemical, mint odor. It was very reminiscent of minty Listerine breath strips, and in fact tastes very much the same as those breath strips. If you like them, you'll like the tea. If, like me, you find that flavor overpowering, you'll be glad to see the bottom of the bag.

    Great!

This is the Brazil model and it works great for brewing tea (I had my doubts). I like it much better than the infuser method because it's just easier to brew and clean up. The press arrived well packaged so there was no breakage.
