(TGFOP) From the Dunsandle Tea Estate in southern India. A flavorful cup lighter than the Assams from northern India, with a hint of sweetness.
Tea plants flourish in southern India due to the warm moist climate and year-round growing season. Many plain teas are produced in this area and not many people expect to find top quality teas there. However, the Dunsandle Tea Estate produces a remarkable black tea that we feel fortunate to have discovered.
This surprising Dunsandle tea is comprised of lovely long well twisted leaves of black and gold, flecked with green, that would be the envy of many estates in the north. The flavor can be described as a cross between a fine Darjeeling and a sweet Assam, combining the best flavor notes of those two varieties.
The tea brews up a nice golden cup, very smooth and it tastes great on its own without milk or sugar. It is a superb afternoon tea and goes well with rice or pasta dishes. Because of its relative obscurity, this tea is a very good bargain. Try it soon before other tea lovers find it and bid up the price.
