Product Details

This lovely tea is from the Nilgiri region in South India. It is produced during winter months, hence the name, winterfrost. This tea is reminiscent of Ceylons. It is medium-bodied with clean taste, light astrigency, and a slight floral aroma. It is one of the best Nilgiri teas we have ever tasted. Infuse for 2-4 minutes at below boiling. Good for a second infusion.

Amazing in all characteristics

I found that brewing at half-strength this is a delightful, sip-able tea. The aroma is tea-like with floral accents. The flavor is smooth and light. This will be a tea I always keep on hand and would never allow to run out.

Beware: too much in your infusers will cause the delicate flavors to be overwhelmed with bitterness. It is better to err on the side of too little than too much. But, of corse that means twice as many cups of this amazing tea!

surprising palette of flavors

I was fascinated when I first tried this tea. The flavors linger in the mouth, and has a nice after-aroma at the end. The subtle hidden flavor notes remind me of an astringent pine flavor, which I enjoy.
