Where's the Carmel flavor!?

The name sounded great and I've tried caramel teas before and really like them but this one didn't have the "caramel" taste at all. I think because it was a black tea that altered the flavor from the other ones I've tried but overall not a fan of this tea.

Not quite there.

I really, really wanted to like this tea, but after sipping on it all morning, hoping maybe I would start to enjoy it, I just...don't. It's not bad by any means, it's just not to my taste, even with milk and sugar. I think I would like it better with more black tea and less herbal.

As it is, it's not something I would order again.

Strange Aftertaste

I love caramel and I love mate, so I really looked forward to trying this tea. The aroma was perfect. The first sip tasted like... dishwater. A second later there was a hint of caramel, more than a hint of saline, and a strange chemical-like aftertaste. Usually I'll just say I didn't care for something, but my reaction to this was strong enough to want to warn others off it.

If you love salted caramel...

If you love salted caramel, you'll love this. It needs a bit of milk to bring out the creaminess of the caramel flavor. In my case, I'm giving up dairy for my health reasons and it still tasted great with coconut or nut milks. This tea would not taste as good without milk or if you dislike sweetening your tea. The monk fruit in it sweetens the tea naturally, so I would add milk and taste it before further sweetening it, if desired. I don't understand the people who left negative reviews who said they didn't like the salt or caramel flavor because I'm wondering if they properly read the name of this tea before purchasing. Why leave a review saying you are unhappy with it, what were you expecting?

This tea is amazing! I have a cup of it every night after dinner. I add a heaping tea spoon of honey to it and I'm in taste bud heaven!!! It cures the sweet tooth and leaves you feeling guilt free and satisfied.

Tastes like an ashtray smells!

I feel lucky to have only ordered a few of these to try! Honestly so awful! The only thing I can liken the taste to is the smell of cigarette smoke. Lacks any depth and the salty hint is very strange on the palate. Not caramelly in the way I would have hoped. Needless to say, there will be no reorder on this flavor!

I would give this tea zero stars if that was an option. My husband and I have very different taste when it comes to tea, but we both agree that this tea is best described as horrific.

I love caramel, so I tried this and initially just thought - eh, whatever... I'd heard of people putting cream in tea but that sounded weird - yet like it might go with a "caramel" tea so I tried it. And O.M.G.!!!! It tasted like a decadent caramel latte to me.

I did use real cream (and quite a bit). Since then I've been using milk most days and it's still great. I love it so much I just ordered a bunch more.

BTW, I saw one review that said it did not taste caramel to them. I don't remember what it tasted like w/out the milk, but with it, I definitely taste caramel. It also has this other subtle fruity flavor - probably the herbal tea - I can't describe it but I LOVE it.

I guess everyone has their own sense of taste but I thought this tea was quite delicious. It has a chocolaty feel to it. I made some for a coffee drinker whose very picky about the teas he drinks. He thought this one was extremely good. If he liked it, then it must be really good. I didn't really taste the salt but that's fine with me since I wouldn't want the salt over powering the tea. It's a nice combination of mate, herbal and black tea. If you like chocolate flavored tea, you must try!

I tried this tea on a whim after trying several other Stash flavors. Hands down, this is without a doubt, the BEST hot tea that I've tasted. To me, it has the flavor of warm NY style soft pretzels that have been dipped in warm caramel. It is currently at the top of my list of favorites.
