Product Details

This unique tea is tasty and aromatic. It brews up a warm reddish brown color, is full bodied and slightly sweet. It is a great drink hot or iced, with or without milk and sweetener.

Rooibos (pronounce roy-boss) is an indigenous herb of South Africa that is made from the fine needle-like leaves of the "Aspalathus linearis" plant. It is harvested, then left to oxidize before drying in the sun. During the plant's ripening process the leaves develop a reddish brown color, explaining why it was given its name "Rooibos" or "Red Bush".

  • Cups to Grams:
    • 8 grams makes 3-4 cups
    • 25 grams makes 10-15 cups
    • 50 grams makes 20-25 cups
    • 100 grams makes 45-50 cups
    • 1 pound loose makes 180-200 cups
  • Ingredients: organic rooibos
  • Steeping Instructions: 3-5 minutes at 190-209 degrees Fahrenheit

Rich, Comforting Herbal Tea

Rooibos is a wonderful tea alternative, particularly because it's so high in antioxidants. This tea is a deep red with a very smooth, but mild taste. It's not bitter, even with very long brewing times (ideal for maximizing antioxidants). It has earthy undertones, but no unpleasant aftertaste. The tea leaves are a nice large size with a deep red color.

An excellent value. I often use this as my second tea of the day. It has an excellent taste, color, aroma and price with no caffeine. It also has a calming effect I've not noticed in other teas claiming it. Very good mixed with honey bush tea for a hint of sweetness."

An excellent, flavorful tea for when you wish to avoid caffeine. Rooibus is a most satisfying herbal tea - its aroma and taste make it more like a real tea than any other herbal tea I have tried. Everyone enjoyed it and it is wonderful to be able to get it in loose leaf.

I have tasted at least 1/2 a dozen different red rooibos teas and yours is clearly the best. I love the fact that all you get is the red tea and nothing else is added to it. I have a very sensitive diet and cannot find this great tasting tea anywhere else. I drink it everyday and simply cannot live without it! My mother-in-law tried it while visiting, liked it so much that I bought some for her as well. Thanks for an awesome product.

A totally unique tea! Depending on how you brew it, it can be light and fruity or more rich and full. I would recommend some experimentation to find the right combination. It's rare that something that tastes this good is also good for you. I find that it is very soothing, particularly for digestive or stomach problems. I also use it as a base for mixing teas. It's also rather sweet and doesn't need much artifical or additional sweetening. I have recommended it to several people who had never heard of it and now they are all frequent users who are in turn recommending it to others. Fantastic product!
