This unique nectar-like tea is one of our most popular blends. Licorice, a root sweeter than sugar cane, has been combined with cinnamon, orange peel, star anise, and sarsaparilla for this delicious herbal tea. The naturally sweet dessert-like qualities of Licorice Spice make it a perfect after dinner tea. Caffeine-free.

Great tea! Also great for teeth...look up the benefits of licorice root for teeth! Kids love it too. We have a large stash for fall through the winter and then the spring.

I was so excited to try this tea based on the high reviews for it . I went to my local grocer and found it and couldn't wait to tear open the box and steep a delicious tea. Well, I couldn't wait to pour it out after my first sip . Not what I expected at all.

I think I fell in love!!!! I bought a sampler pack at the grocery store & was so delighted to drink the licorice spice. It is an amazing tea!
I added it to my wish list for Christmas!
I am looking forward to this tea also helping soothe an aggravating cough from my cold.
This is the perfect touch to end a meal or anytime!!! If you love licorice whose to say?!
Have my eye on Chocolate Hazelnut which sounds delicious....can almost taste it & am looking forward to it!

Question about licorice root used
October 28, 2011

I love and make this tea frequently but I have a question about the type of licorice root used.

Recently the FDA issued health warnings about the glycyrrhinzin in licorice, especially for people over 40. (In fact the Latin name for licorice is Glycyrrhiza glabra).

I am wondering if the licorice root listed in the ingredients for this tea is deglycyrrhizinated?

If not, in light of recent findings, there might need to be a health warning on the packaging.

A Total Suprise!

I expected to hate this tea but was completely suprised. I was suffering from an annoying cough and only tried this tea to help with my cold symptoms. First of all it worked and calmed my cough like a charm. And I actually loved the flavor and it has become one of my go-to teas. To me it doesn't taste like licorice, just has a nice sweetness and cinnamon like after note. I will definitely continue to buy this tea and highly recommend it to soothe your throat or cough!

This is the only tea I drink that comes in individual tea bags. There is no bitterness to it, instead it has a lingering sweet aftertaste. I do not add milk or any sweeteners to it, I feel it takes away from the flavor. It does taste like licorice to me, but I love licorice so this is not an issue. It seems to be difficult to find in stores, so whenever I see it I buy myself several boxes of it. Brewing this tea makes the room smell wonderful, and the flavor is simply amazing. It is different from any other tea I have tried. I had to start making it a teapot at a time instead of a cup at a time, as I will usually drink 2-3 cups of it in an evening.

The Tea that helped me kick coffee

Until recently I was an avid coffee drinker. Quite honestly I was addicted and could never see myself giving it up. I simply loved the taste of fresh brewed coffee and the caffeine "buzz" it provided. More and more I became conscious of the negative health effects of coffee and caffeine. I wasn't much of a tea drinker until I tried Licorice Spice Herbal tea. Slowly I found myself drinking more cups of this delightful tea than I was coffee. Now, I prefer the licorice spice tea to coffee and am thrilled with how much better I feel without the caffeine.

Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover

I'll admit that I am no fan of licorice, so I was a little skeptical about this tea, but I have to say I was blown away. It's a perfect blend of flavors, not to sweet, and not bitter. It's aromatic, soothing, and the licorice itself is not overpowering. One of the best things I can say about it is that when I was feeling the onset of a could... (light cough, scratchy throat, headache) I brewed myself a steaming 10oz cup, dropped in two tea bags and let it infuse for roughly 8 minutes. By the time I was done drinking I felt good as new, not so much as a trace of cough, and didn't develop a cold. I will definitely buy this tea again, and would strongly recommend it, even to those who think they don't like licorice.

Perfect sugar substitute

As someone who is trying to cut down on sugar and yet suffers from a sweet tooth, this is the tea for me. It satisfies with it's wonderful aroma and sweet taste. I make a pot in the morning Russian style. That is I put in the required amount of tea for the size of the pot but only 1/3 the amount of water. After it steeps, I pour about 1/4 tea liquid into my cup and then add hot water from the kettle. It makes a perfect cup every time. You must like licorice and spices to appreciate this tea but if you do you won't find any better.
