Product Details

Our English Breakfast Tea combines top-quality black teas from premier tea gardens. We blend bright Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka, malty Assam and smooth Nilgiri from India, and full-bodied Keemun from China. The result is a very distinctive, rich tea. It takes milk and sugar very well. This stimulating tea is the perfect morning wake-up drink.

There are many differing stories regarding the origin of English Breakfast Tea. One is that the prototype for English Breakfast was developed in Edinburgh over a hundred years ago by the Scottish Tea Master Drysdale. It was marketed simply as "Breakfast Tea" and become popular in England due to the craze Queen Victoria created for all things Scottish. Tea shops in London, however, changed the name and sold it as "English Breakfast Tea".

Another account claims that the blend now known as English Breakfast originated not in England but in America, as far back as Colonial times. Colonials, perhaps suffering from homesickness, dubbed the blend of black tea customarily enjoyed in Britain "English Breakfast" out of nostalgia.

Whatever the case, English Breakfast has made its mark in tea history and, along with Irish Breakfast, is one of the most famous blended teas.

Note: The 1000 ct tea bags are packaged loose in a box.

I only drink Stash English Breakfast tea...I enjoy it anytime of the day. I can brew it lightly or strong and it is delicious either way. I especially enjoy a tasty cup in the morning with what ever I am eating. I carry a few packets in my bag at all times and if I stop somewhere that does not carry Stash English Breakfast I order hot water and use my own tea bag.

This is a fantastic full bodied tea. I enjoy it hot or cold. Because it is a full flavor tea yet smooth it is excellent for iced tea. You get what you pay for. Inexpensive store brands are full of tiny tea particles - you will see them settle in the bottom of your cup. Stash uses larger pieces of tea leaves so no residue. Worth every penny - LOVE IT.

I've enjoyed tea most of my live but Stash Tea is well above all the other teas I have tired. My husband who would rarely drink tea but when he tried the English Breakfast tea he dricks almost as much tea as I do. We enjoy it any time of day. We both have recommend it to our friends and coworkers.

My mother is British so I've grown up on tea. Stopped in Franklin, TN at a bakery and they suggested this....JUST AMAZING! Perfect. They served it in a thick, bowl type cup PREHEATED (yea!) The color was beautiful. Even had a refill. Loved it so much I had to write the brand down and surf to this site. Will be a new customer....loved it.

English Breakfast tea is a constant comfort for me. I drink at least 3 cups a day and order the 'best buy' because I would panic if I ran out...It is a consistent cup-the same all the time and I always brew it up strong and it is never bitter. It greets me in the morning, gets me through the afternoon and is there for me at night. I drink other Stash teas but the English Breakfast is one I must have ...everyone should have this tea in their pantry!
