Product Details

A Stash Tea best seller and long-time customer favorite! Earl Grey is black tea scented with bergamot, an oil extracted from a pear-shaped Mediterranean citrus about the size of an orange. Earl Grey brews up a beautiful amber cup with a distinctive flavor and lightly fragrant aroma.

Earl Grey is a versatile tea, at its best in the afternoon or after dinner. Delicious and flavorful plain, it may also be served with sugar and milk. Plus, it makes a wonderful, refreshing iced tea.

The tea leaves in Earl Grey are usually a blend of Chinese black or Indian Darjeeling teas. Stash uses superior grades of Ceylon black tea from Sri Lanka and black teas from China for our Earl Grey. We strive for a distinctive tea flavor that is not overwhelmed by the pungent citrus, and we use only 100% pure bergamot oil, not a mixture.

Story has it that in 1830 Englishman Charles Earl Grey (the second Earl Grey, 1764-1845) was on a diplomatic mission to China, when a mandarin presented him with the recipe for making this distinctive tea. Now it is the most famous scented tea in the Western world.

Note: The 1000 ct tea bags are packaged loose in a box.

When I first stepped into a coffee shop and asked what tea was good this was the one that was referred to me. I drank it just like that and it was good. Then I ordered another and added one packet of sugar and it was that much better. Now I have found that in order to get the full effect of this téa is to put one sugar and a lemon wedge. This is and still is one of my favorite tea's. I just had two rounds while studying.

This is a very good tea. The taste is really smooth and the smell is nice and fragrant. It's not super strong, which I like, and it tastes great with some milk and honey, to give it a smooth, mild taste with a nice fragrance. I like to start my morning with Earl Grey Tea, and I always keep stash in my rotation.

This Earl Grey is more bitter and less fragrant than others I've had. Not as much sweet bergamot flavor, and the base tea is quite aggressive. I'll probably go back to my old brand when this box is finished.

Earl Grey is my favorite morning and afternoon tea. It's drinkability is superb with just the right amount of fragrant bergamot. Stash's Earl Grey is one of the smoothest teas I have found.

Earl grey is my favorite tea. Overall, it is a great flavored black tea everyone must try. However, I have had better brands. I was hoping the loose leaf version was going to be awesome, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

I drink this tea daily. It's your basic earl grey tea, I always thought it smelt of fruity pebbles cereal after my sister told me about it's smell so it's always a fun tea for me to drink.

Earl Grey is my favorite tea and Stash's is by far my favorite Earl Grey! Both the loose and bagged versions are wonderful. Decaf is great too.

As far as Earl Greys go, this is not one of my faves. It tastes way too fruity to me... like there were hints of peach thrown in. Not what I'm expecting when I want a good Earl Grey. I do love their White and Green Fusion tea however. That is definitely one of my faves. Nothing against the company, just this flavor.

While on vacation several years ago, I was dining in a very nice restaurant and they served me this tea. When I opened the packet, I couldn't believe the aroma of the tea leaves! The hot tea itself was exquisite! I was so impressed, I saved the wrapper and ordered this tea online as soon as I returned home. I have ordered the loose tea every month since then and sent it to friends as a gift. It never fails to please. If you love Earl Grey, you will love this tea!

We buy Earl Grey by the case for home use. We love the quality of the tea and the case purchase allows us to manage budgets and retain the caliber and consistency in our lives. Morning or Afternoon, hot or iced... We even take some bags with us on trips just in case hot tea isn't served or they don't have Stash Earl Grey.
