Product Details

Portland, Oregon, known as the City of Roses, is the home of Stash Tea. The metropolis's unique combination of rich volcanic soil and abundant moisture, coupled with a long, mild spring, creates the perfect conditions for growing world-class roses.

Prized since the dawn of history, roses are known as the queen of flowers. In 1985, Stash Tea developed this special tea blend in honor of the Portland Rose Festival held each June.

To create this romantic blend, we combine fragrant Rose Congou black tea from China with natural raspberry flavor. Although China produces a lot of great black teas, very little black tea is consumed within the country itself. Rose Congou, however, is one notable exception.

The black tea is spread with rose flowers while oxidizing; this exposure to aromatic rose petals lends a mild, flowery fragrance to the tea and creates a naturally scented, sweet cup. A few rose petals are left in the tea as decoration.

Our Rosebud black tea yields a smooth and aromatic cup when brewed. The tea is wonderfully aromatic, with a fresh quality that invokes the essence of damask roses. Rosebud tea is especially delightful with a touch of honey.

I first tried this tea about 10 years ago. It is my favorite and I never tire of it. It is bold, aromatic, and delicious! Thank you, Stash!

death by roses!

Too. Much. Roses. I open up the tin and suffocated, but I brewed a cup anyway, thinking teas usually smell stronger when dry. Not this one. After brewing, the rose perfume is still overwhelming, overpowering even the raspberry flavor, which I couldn't smell or taste at all. May be a couple of brews later it'll be better, I thought. Nope. Still strong, and even a bit bitter even though I didn't over steep. I love rose tea, but this one is a sensory overload. Pleh...

This is a lovely afternoon tea! The raspberry flavour goes very well with the scent and sweet taste of the rose tea. I highly recommend this tea, especially for a delightful afternoon tea. I suggest serving it with a nice, not-too-sweet shortbread, as well.
