Product Details

Grown at a small tea garden, Jun Chiyabari, at an elevation of 6500 feet in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal, these long, dark brown twisted tea leaves create a full-bodied, amber color liquor. This tea's subtle sweetness with a hint of caramel, make it most enjoyable with milk and sugar.

Delightfully interesting!

I am a black tea drinker, who likes it bold with plenty of milk and sugar. But this is a black tea that is something different and very interesting in an exotic kind of way. It's wonderful! I save it for special weekends. One can make it by the cup using a filter, but it's best in a tea pot with a strainer or an infuser, where the tea leaves have room to unfurl for maximum flavor. One orders it by the 25g, and one can order multiples. I just re-ordered 4 x 25 = 100g.

This is copied from my Steepster account. Feel free to find me under the same name if you like.

First off, this is a mighty hard tea to scoop due to the big twisty leaves, but there are worse problems to have.

There is a definite sweetness that comes out of this tea, above and beyond the sugar I added (a touch of milk also). I’m not sure I taste the caramel notes from the description but there is something there, teasing me, that I can’t quite identify. This is a very simple and pleasant tea, with just bare hints of astringency that I may just be imagining and no bitterness at all.

I quite like this, but it is nothing to shout from the rooftops. Also note that it is only available in 25g size for order.
