Product Details

Our English Breakfast Tea combines top-quality black teas from premier tea gardens. We blend bright Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka, malty Assam and smooth Nilgiri from India, and full-bodied Keemun from China. The result is a very distinctive, rich tea. It takes milk and sugar very well. This stimulating tea is the perfect morning wake-up drink.

There are many differing stories regarding the origin of English Breakfast Tea. One is that the prototype for English Breakfast was developed in Edinburgh over a hundred years ago by the Scottish Tea Master Drysdale. It was marketed simply as "Breakfast Tea" and become popular in England due to the craze Queen Victoria created for all things Scottish. Tea shops in London, however, changed the name and sold it as "English Breakfast Tea".

Another account claims that the blend now known as English Breakfast originated not in England but in America, as far back as Colonial times. Colonials, perhaps suffering from homesickness, dubbed the blend of black tea customarily enjoyed in Britain "English Breakfast" out of nostalgia.

Whatever the case, English Breakfast has made its mark in tea history and, along with Irish Breakfast, is one of the most famous blended teas.

Note: The 1000 ct tea bags are packaged loose in a box.

This is a nice strong tea to wake up to, in the morning. Or a nice strong tea for a mid afternoon pick me up. I love a strong black tea, and this more than does the job. Will buy more in the future.

I have never been a real fan of tea but I needed to wean my self off coffee. The first time I tried it was in Antarctica. I normally drink green or black tea but never really found a taste suited to my palate. This tea tasted fantastic. I tried other tea that Stash makes but none came close to this tea. Many morning it saved my day until they ran out. I'm not ashamed of hording a box or two because I just simply love this Tea. When I got back to California I just had to have have it and looked on the back of the tea bag for their websites. Gonna have my cousin review of the tea. It certainly makes a wonderful house warming gift even to those who are non tea drinkers.

Sorry, I am not British but I have tried many teas. I have been picking this up at a local grocery for some time and have not found anything better. This is the smoothest tea around and it works well for breakfast or anytime really. I just ordered the loose leaf and I will review that after it arrives.
