Product Details

Our interpretation of this classic Indian drink blends rich, flavorful Indian black teas with cinnamon, clove, ginger and cardamom. The brewed tea is very aromatic, with a flavor that is slightly sweet, strong, and penetrating, with lingering notes of almond. This tea is excellent plain or with milk (regular or evaporated) and sweetener. It is exceptional any time of day-as a rich morning cup, an enjoyable dessert tea, or as a special treat.

Some of the finest black tea in the world comes from India, the world's leading producer of tea. Included in these teas are the robust Assams, muscatel Darjeelings and well-balanced Nilgiris. However, most tea consumed in India is not enjoyed for its subtle flavor nuances, but instead is blended with sweet and pungent spices to make chai.

Chai is usually brewed very strong, often concentrated, with lots of sugar and milk. Traditional Indian chai combines rich black tea that is boiled in milk with local spices such as cinnamon, clove, cardamom, and occasionally black peppercorns, ginger, and red chilies. The drink is then sweetened with sugar.

Note: The 1000 ct tea bags are packaged loose in a box.

  • Ingredients: blended black teas, ginger root, cinnamon, natural cinnamon flavor, clove bud oil, allspice, clove, nutmeg, cardamom oil
  • Steeping Instructions: 3-5 minutes at 190-209 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Caffeinated: Yes

I can't remember how exactly I was introduced to this tea, but ever since it has been love. To me this is the best... exotic warming tea you can drink! And it's more like coffee to me and is perfect with a little bit of sugar and half and half or milk. I love the spiciness of it and it makes me feel all warm and cozy, it's pure <3!

This is the only tea I will drink without sugar, no need for anything else. Not too dry or bitter, although I highly recommend a splash of vanilla almond milk. My coworkers really enjoy the aroma as well!! I am by no means a tea expert, but this is definitely one of the best bagged teas I've had!!

My first experience with Stash

One of my co-workers introduced me to Stash teas with this one. It smelled so good, I had to stop by the store on my way home. There are only 2 stores in town that carry any Stash teas, and lucky for me, I stopped at one of them. I instantly fell in love. Since I quit drinking soda, and hate coffee, I was looking for something different than regular hot tea. My husband now complains that there is no room in one of the cupboars becaus of all my teas. I guess this qualifies as an addiction, but at least it's a healthy one!

This is one of my favorite mid-morning teas with just the right amount of spice. It complements baked goods extremely well and helps me power through until my afternoon tea.

I was never a big tea drinker, until I tried this tea. I love the sweet cinnamon taste and black tea. I also like that it has some caffeine, which is nice in the morning or at night when I'm trying to stay awake to watch a movie! Now that I've tried this tea, I've tried a lot of other teas and have become quite the tea drinker! I love trying new teas. Thanks for creating such a yummy tea, Stash Tea! : )

On a cold yet beautiful snowy morning I turn to my warm mug of Chai Spice Black tea. What I love about this tea is that its not like the others out there because its delicious. If you are looking for something different and spicy I would definitely get this tea.

The best chai in the world!

It is the best chai tea in the world and I have traveled and tasted a lot of chai teas. It has the perfect balance of spices and the tea is strong enough. I bought 240 of them last November and they are all finished. I have to reorder them. We drink it with a little vanilla soya milk and it gives it a soft sweet taste. It is the reason I get up in the morning. I stopped drinking coffee because I preferred your chai tea even in the morning. I have recommended it to all my friends and family.

Yes, traditional chai teas have black pepper, but that's the one ingredient that I've never loved about chai and don't miss in Stash's Chai Spice Black Tea. While this tea may be a little less than ""traditional"" (minus the pepper, but a stronger cinnamon flavor), it's a very cozy treat when brewed strong with heavy cream and sweetener. Now that the weather has gotten colder, I love to curl up with this tea on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Cozzzzzyyyyyy.
