Lacks Flavor and Spice
October 23, 2014

I am a big Stash Tea fan, but I have to say for a red herbal chai tea this one really lacks flavor.
I thought it was the tea bag I used (maybe in manufacturing the tea bag did not get as much of the mixture), so we tried several other cups prior to writing this review.
We let it seep for the recommended 3-5 minutes and still little if any flavor.
We did not taste any spices in it at all (the name having the word "spice" in it).
The package indicates it is cinnamon, rooibos, ginger root, and cloves, all things which you associate with "flavor". But, unfortunately, this falls flat.

I have tried many different Chai teas over the years and love stash brand by far. I can drink it with out any sugar or milk and it still tastes like I’m drinkings some expensive cup of tea that is full of calories but its not. I decided to try the Spice dragon Red Chai because it was decaf and I wanted something to drink in the evenings. I like to brew a strong cup of tea and with this one the finished product is like drinking a cup of big red bubble gum but with out the flavor going away in like two mins. I was super excited and will keep buying ….. thanks

Great if you like spice

I liked this chai, even if it isn't my favorite. The spice isn't overwhelming, but it is strong enough that if you don't like ginger or spicy things, this might not be your cup of tea (pun intended). It's best made up the way chai tea is traditionally served in India, sweetened with milk.

Not as good as Vanilla Chai

I tried several varieties of chai tea, and this was my least favorite. It was good, but not great. I was looking for a decaf for my kids, and we all preferred the Vanilla Decaf Chai over this one.

I really like this tea. It isn't too spicy, I actually add ginger syrup to it, and it's just perfect. It is great especially for the cold winter months that seem to last forever in Chicago. I drink it everyday.

The combination of rooibus and chai spices is simply divine. The mellow red tea balances the chai perfectly, creating the smoothest chai tea I've ever had.

I am not much of a cinnamon person, but I tried this anyway. And I'm so glad I did. The rooibos evens out the cinnamon, making the blend absolutely wonderful.

Not normally a chai lover

There's something about chai that's never really worked for me, until now. Is it that it's a rooibos? Or that the spices are just perfect? Add some canned full fat coconut milk (leave it in the fridge and it turns to the consistency of whipped cream) and you have a creamy delicious filling treat that won't keep you awake half the night.

The Spice Dragon Red Chai caffeine free herbal tea is a perfectly balanced and delicious blend of cinnamon, rooibos, ginger root, and clove, with a wonderful aroma and flavor.

Perfect after a meal, its healthful ingredients are an added bonus. Ginger has been used to lessen congestion, aid indigestion, and fight digestive issues, arthritis pain, morning and motion sickness and is believed to boost immunity because of its anti-viral abilities.

Research has confirmed that anti-bacterial cinnamon may help reduce symptoms of insulin resistance and diabetes, and it aids digestion, has been used to treat colds, flu, diarrhea, and to soothe the nervous system.

Cloves have been used all over the world to treat pain, to relieve muscle spasms, and stomach problems.

Absolutely perfect served as is, or with a splash of cream and/or your sweetener of choice. We really like it hot but it would also be good over ice. Highly recommended!
