Product Details

For our organic Breakfast Blend Tea, we combine flavorful Ceylon from Sri Lanka and full-bodied, dark Indian Assam for a rich and invigorating blend. Great with a splash of milk. Fair Trade Certified.

By the 1700s tea at breakfast was part of the English lifestyle. The prototype for English Breakfast was developed over a hundred years ago by a Scottish Teamaster in Edinburgh, and marketed simply as "Breakfast Tea". Today breakfast tea has become a favorite of tea drinkers worldwide and is the tea most often enjoyed during English High Tea.

Our Organic Ceylon is from the Dimbulla region which has tea estates at elevations of 5,000 to 6,000 feet and seasonal monsoons. The teas are harvested December through February. This tea is characterized by long, chestnut colored leaves and rich taste.

Our Organic Assam Black tea comes from the Sewpur Tea Estate in the Tinsukia district of Assam. This tea has distinctive malty flavor, full-body and a warm, reddish brown color in the cup.

Both teas selected for our Organic Breakfast blend are certified by the renowned "Institute for MarketEcology" in Switzerland, which is an IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) member, recognized worldwide.

Stash Tea is certified organic by Quality Assurance International. QAI is a professional organic certification service that is internationally recognized. QAI's program is designed to certify every step of the organic chain - from the land on which the product is grown, to the growers, to the post harvest facilities and the final processing and handling facilities.

Such diligence provides assurance that the end product is indeed organic and that it complies with state, provincial, national and international organic standards. Products which carry the QAI certification seal convey the confidence of an unbroken "chain of custody" that all materials and processes have been individually certified as organic.

First and Best Choice

A bag of this wonderful tea was my first taste of Stash organic teas and it was the best choice. I have always been fond of black teas but I have been drinking Lipton for twenty-something years and only recently learned of the pesticides and various chemicals in their leaves and bags.
Now that I have tried this I will not go back. Not only for the healthier choice that is organic but for the superior taste. One bag and a few minutes is all I need where, for Lipton, I needed two+ to get the strength and it still didn't carry the rich flavour.
Thank you so much Stash for providing an organic tea that could so easily out class something that had practically become part of my DNA, I'm off to try many new flavours!

Best Daily Tea

This is a fabulous daily tea. I love black teas, having grown up with an English mother. (I tend to find non-black teas quite bland.) As I've gotten older, though, I've learned to balance caffeine content with tea richness. This organic blend of black breakfast tea is PERFECT. It allows all the flavor and richness of a black breakfast tea without any caffeine side-effects. I believe it is due to the organic content. (For example, I also enjoy the non-organic, regular Breakfast Blend but it has a slight caffeine side effect. So, given the choice, I choose the organic blend. Thanks, Stash, for making both available so there *is* a choice!) Bottom line: If you like rich, black tea with little to no caffeine side effect, this is for you. If you like rich, black tea with a boost of adrenaline, go for the regular, non-organic blend.

While Estate Breakfast remains my favorite morning tea, Organic Breakfast blend runs a close second. It brews a very good pot, with rich flavor, a full body, and I definitely like the fact that it is organic.
