Product Details

The finest jasmine tea hand-rolled into pearl-sized spheres brews an incomparable infusion that will delight even the most fervent jasmine lovers. Incredible fragrance.

This tea is grown near the border of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, where the mountainous landscape is often shrouded by fog. Dragon Phoenix Pearl Jasmine gets its name from the visual characteristics of the tea bushes, which climb the hillsides like a dragon rising from water. Furthermore, the tea pickers give the appearance of dancing phoenixes next to the dragon's long and slender body.

The white tea is plucked in April and May and stored until August when the finest jasmine blossoms are in bloom. Night-blooming white jasmine flowers are picked in the morning while the tiny petals are tightly closed and set aside until nightfall. The petals begin to pop open in the cool night air, which is the signal for the scenting to begin.

Once open, the "marrying" of the jasmine and the tea takes place in several applications-each taking up to four hours-after which the jasmine petals are removed. Each leaf and bud set are then skillfully hand-rolled into a tiny pearl-sized ball. Once rolled, the tea is then wrapped in silk mesh and dried by fire to set the form.

During infusion, the hot water causes the tiny pearls to open like flowers and sink slowly to the bottom of the cup. We recommend placing 18 to 20 of these tiny pearls in a clear glass cup to watch their graceful unfurling, a process also known as "the agony of the leaves". The superbly sweet and floral aroma, the delicate flavor, and the unique leaf shape all make the Dragon Phoenix Pearl Jasmine an exceptional experience.

I normally love this tea. However, when purchased elsewhere the pearls have leaves with few stems. My most recent purchase of loose tea, has almost all stems. I make a pot at a time, and there are maybe 5 leaves per pot. I will try it again, but if I get the same results I will not buy it at Stash again.

I've never tried a jasmine tea before, and I was missing out. This is the most aromatic tea I've ever drank! It reminds me of the lilac flowers in the spring.

This tea unfurls and one would think the aroma would overpower the light pale yellow tea. Why it doesn't I don't know but the marriage between tea and floral are so intoxicating that this is my absolute go to tea. It's light enough to drink often and heady enough to surprise my other tea friends.

Really amazing

This tea is great- really nice jasmine fragrance, and perfectly balanced with mild tea flavor and no bitterness. Very smooth and sweet, doesn't need any sugar added. Just wonderful and the best jasmine tea I've ever had. Spend the money, you won't regret it. I get three infusions from each portion of leaves- the first cup is the strongest, but each is wonderfully perfumed with jasmine and has great flavor. Multiple infusions means that this tea really isn't that expensive per cup.

I would give this tea 10 stars if I could.

This is my favorite tea! I drink this tea everyday. It has a very smooth taste with the soothing aroma of jasmine flowers. The fragrance is really amazing! The color of the tea is a medium golden yellow if you steep it for the length of time labled on the package. Those who are new to drinking tea will find this tea to be perfect for them because the taste is subtle and not overpowering. I highly recommend this tea to all tea drinkers! Cheers!

I make a pot of this tea every morning. It is the perfect start to my day. This is the closest I have found to a tea I had when in China. There is no "earth" flavor - it is all wonderful tea and jasmine. I have tried other brands of the same tea that I can find locally but they don't come close to this tea.

A multi-use, beautiful Jasmine tea

This is my multi-use tea. Great alone for a jasmine lover, but a little too heavy jasmine for me that way, so I tend to use it with other teas. I don't sweeten my tea, I add a few of these pearls instead! It livens up greens, softens oolongs, compliments whites. Gives any tea a sweet aroma and a hint of flowers. It's my little happy-pearl! I also like to put one in my cup to look at the anemone-like leaves as they sit softly at the bottom. So for me, this is a staple in my tea basket. I take it camping, on trips, everywhere we go. Add a couple to any old teabag tea at any old hotel to give the tea a little life. Try it, you'll like it!
